Some Great Exercices To Get In Lean Shape

  1. Pullups (palms facing away from you). Chinup bar required. (Video.)
  2. Pushups. As many as you can (video). Do modified pushups if you can’t do full pushups, with your knees on the floor (video). If those are still too hard, do wall pushups, leaning against the wall or a chair.
  3. Jump squats. Basically you squat down until your thighs are parallel to the floor, then jump up as high as you can, and repeat. (Video.)
  4. Bicycle crunches. I don’t normally recommend crunches, but these use a good combination of core muscles. (Video.)
  5. Jumping lunges. (Video.)
  6. Burpees. (Video.)
  7. Hanging knee raises. Chinup bar required. (Video.)
  8. Hindu pushups. (Video.)
  9. Russian twists. (Video, but you don’t need to use the medicine ball as shown.)
  10. Diamond pushups. (Video.)
  11. Chinups (palms facing toward you). Chinup bar required. (Video.)

Basic bodyweight exercises

There are many, many variations of bodyweight exercises, but here are some of the more common ones:

  • Pushups (there are many variations — Hindu pushups (video), dive bombers, diamond pushups (video) and others)
  • Burpees (video)
  • Squats (video) (variations: jump squats (video), Hindu squats (video))
  • Lunges (video) (variation: jumping lunges, side lunges)
  • Chair dips (video)
  • Planks (video) (variation: side plank)
  • Crunches - my favorite: bicycle crunches (video)
  • Bear crawl - crawl quickly on hands and feet (video)
  • Lateral barrier jump - jump sideways, over an obstacle (video)
  • Isometrics
  • Plyometrics
Cardio exercises
  • Jumping jacks
  • Jump rope - requires jump rope, of course, but it’s a great workout (video)

  • Interval running
  • Rowing (requires a rowing machine)
  • Other cardio exercise machine if you have it

Fingerprint Test Tells Much More Than Identity

Mike sends in the story of a new fingerprint technology with interesting potential for both crime detection and rights violations; there are also intriguing possibilities in fighting cancer. "Using a variation of mass spectrometry called 'desorption electrospray ionization' or 'Desi,' a fingerprint can identify what the person has been touching — drugs, explosives, or poisons, for example. Writing in the Friday issue of the journal Science, R. Graham Cooks, a professor of chemistry at Purdue University, and his colleagues describe how the technique could find a wider application in crime investigations. As it becomes cheaper and more widely available, the Desi technology has potential ethical implications, Cooks said. Instead of drug tests, a company could surreptitiously check for illegal drug use of its employees by analyzing computer keyboards after the employees have gone home, for instance."

How to escape being dragged into group MSN conversations

It automatically drags you into group conversations without your consent or even a warning. I’ve recently been greatly annoyed by this, especially while doing work, and it feels rude not to reply, so I feel obliged to reply. It led me to attempt to find out how to escape the clutches of this rather annoying feature of MSN.
Step One: Download Messenger Plus! Live and install. Make sure you don’t install the ‘Optional Sponsor Software’ when you’re installing it, otherwise you’ll have spyware. You can download Messenger Plus! Live here: http://www.msgpluslive.net/download/
Step Two: Run Windows Live Messenger like normal, and sign in.
Step Three: Download the Group Chat Warning script, which is available from here: http://www.msgpluslive.net/scripts/download/96/
Step Four: Double click the script (gcwarning0-5.plsc) once finished downloading. Check “I accept responsibility of installing this script” and click Import button.
Don’t worry about the warning, I can assure you that this script is as safe as any program can be. But if you’re that worried, you can scan the file using VirusTotal or anything equivalent to that.

Now, from now on, whenever someone attempts to drag you into a group conversation you will get a warning like the following:

And you will get two options, accept and decline. Here are the effects of the two:
Accept: This will simply allow you to carry onto the group conversation without interference, and close the warning box.
Decline: Makes an automated message that says:
“Please Ask Before Making Group Conversations.”
And automatically closes the conversation.

Chipped Passport Cloned In Minutes

"New microchip passports designed to be foolproof against identity theft failed the test when a researcher was able to manipulate one in minutes. The cloned passports were accepted as genuine by the computer software recommended for use at international airports. According to the article: 'A computer researcher cloned the chips on two British passports and implanted digital images of Osama bin Laden and a suicide bomber. The altered chips were then passed as genuine by passport reader software used by the UN agency that sets standards for e-passports.'"

New OS From Microsoft: Midori

Microsoft has kicked off a research project to create software that will take over when it retires Windows.
Called Midori, the cut-down operating system is radically different to Microsoft's older programs.
It is centred on the internet and does away with the dependencies that tie Windows to a single PC.
It is seen as Microsoft's answer to rivals' use of "virtualisation" as a way to solve many of the problems of modern-day computing.

Google Street View Car Stopped In Bradford

Street view car was stopped by British Police in Bradford for driving in the bus lane.
At first they didn’t stop and the police had to put their lights and siren on before the distinctive Google car with their logo and large rooftop mounted camera finally came to a halt in a car park.
The police officers decided in the end to take no action and sent the Google employees on their way.
The Google spokeswoman though could use some grammar training. Spot the boob-boob :
“The vehicle had driven down a bus only lane and the officer just pulled him over to see what he was doing”
“He explained that we was from Google and had permission to be in the area, and he was sent on his way“
Google has just begun filming its Street View service in Britain and it has proven to be extremely controversial. Having the cars flouting traffic rules isn’t going to endear Google to the locals either.
